Yet More Change

Over the years I have learnt that I am good at change. I have survived (and enjoyed) a myriad of work restructures and at the age of 45 I left my whole life and went off to start again. Looking back I wonder whether it was bravery or stupidity but at the time I did not once consider that it would not work.

One of my staff has just resigned which effectively leaves me with no one due to a variety of reasons. The thought of starting the new year with a whole new team of people is so exciting. While others around me are saying "what will we do without x", I am thinking, "WOO HOO what an adventure."

I am definitely a "glass half full" girl and I always look for the silver lining. I know that change can be a bit like painful childbirth but I believe it is important to focus on the benefits to be gained rather than what is being lost. Particularly when it is change you cannot stop surely it is better to embrace it rather than stress yourself by trying to stop the breaking of the dam.
