Passwords and Plastic
In these days of passwords and plastic cards I think we should just start to issue all newborns with a barcode that becomes their password to the whole world.
I don't know about you but I have so many 4 digit, six digit, 5 digits and one numeral passwords that most days I can't get into my own front door let alone my bank account, email account or any other electronic place.
The experts tell us not to choose address numbers, birthdates or any other simple number we can easily remember or others can easily work out. I totally understand the logic of this but how the hell am I supposed to remember all these different numbers and letters. If I write them down I will lose the book or someone else can look in my diary while I am out of the room. If I have them tattooed on my arms and legs I soon won't need clothes to cover me.
And then there are the plastic cards. At last count I had in excess of thirty five cards. There are membership cards, discount cards, library cards, credit cards, handybank cards and swipe cards,as well as a drivers' licence.
Why can't I just have one card that my life is scanned into, then if I lose my wallet I don't have to spend the national debt making phone calls to cancel all my cards. I know this smacks a little of big brother but hey, all those call centres that ring me at dinner time know my life history so chances are everyone else in the world can find it out as well.
